Empower Padel brought together leading female athletes, broadcasters and wellness creators for a special VIP Invitational at The Hurlingham Club in London.
Girls from The Hurlingham Club Foundation’s Girls’ Racquets Programme took to the court alongside inspiring role models, including Olympic hockey gold medallist Sophie Bray MBE, former England netball international Tamsin Greenway and four-time Winter Olympian Chemmy Alcott.
The event gave participants the opportunity to develop their padel skills while gaining valuable insight into the confidence, resilience and commitment needed to succeed both in sport and beyond.
Launched in 2024, the Girls’ Racquets Programme has already supported more than 200 girls through weekly padel and squash coaching, equipment and mentoring. Funds raised at the invitational will help the programme continue its work.
Empower Padel founder Pep Stonor said: “Our mission is simple: to help more women and girls discover the joy, confidence and connection that sport can bring.”
The initiative demonstrates how padel’s accessible and social format can encourage more girls to remain active and build a lifelong connection with sport.
